Jason can’t wait to get a super-special edition copy of his favorite fantasy novel, but when it finally arrives he discovers just how special it actually is! As he reads, he finds himself magically pulled into the story world and inhabiting the body of the female main character. Some people might be dismayed by this, but not Jason. It’s thrilling to actually be living in his favorite fantasy, and he secretly always identified with the female lead.
The problem is that Jason knows how the book ends–with his own character’s death. He has no idea what might happen to him if that plays out, and he needs to change the story if he wants to live, so he seeks help from the most unlikely person of all… the villainess of the story, who hates his character more than anything.
With a different mind and a different personality for his protagonist, this spark of hate might be the seed of a new love between the unlikely companions… but even working together will they be able to change the ending and find a way to return Jason to his regular life? And more importantly, will he even want to go?
